I have numerous books of N Roberts and, while not her best one, it was a nice read. Again, I am never comparing this type of novels to, Tolstoy or O'Henry, so I always try to keep it in perspective. As romance novels go, this one is a very cute story, at times warm, mostly sensual and provocative, sometimes not very believable fantasy.When you are in the mood for this sort of entertainment, like for example, on a beach, or during a long plain ride, or a rainy weekend, this book is perfect.Plus, I liked the idea of an independant, complicated, talented heroine having a strong mind and deciding, for a change, to take charge and go after the man she wants; its sweet. As I mentioned, this is a 2-book story of two friends- here the first guy gets his love-match; in the second novel, though, "Best Laid Plans", the other friend will be written slightly better, with a just more depth and a bit better story. Personally, I liked the second one a smidge more, anyway. But do read this one first, as they come in sequence. One of my favorite Nora books. Characters are witty and fun with great va va voom. Couldn’t put it down.
